In an effort to keep our functions fluid and in line with the times, the AIA-GV chapter has been working for several months on proposed changes to our bylaws. Many of the proposed revisions are just general houskeeping items that will correct inconsistencies and bring the bylaws in line with the current reality of the chapter and to comply with AIA Michigan and AIA national requirements.  Some of the bigger and more interesting changes we're proposing include:

  1. electronic voting and communications
  2. allowing associate members to serve in more capacities within the chapter
  3. changing the schedule of our board elections to align with AIA Michigan requirements
  4. allow greater flexibility in the scheduling of meetings of the general membership

Per the bylaws, the proposed changes will be distributed well in advance of a vote which will be publicized and take place at a TBD time and location, most likely a Lunch & Learn in the spring. We look forward to your thoughts and comments on these proposed changes.
