The AIA Grand Valley chapter has been working for several months on proposed changes to the bylaws.  Many of the proposed changes are to correct inconsistencies and to bring the bylaws into line with the current reality of the chapter and to comply with AIA Michigan and AIA National requirements.  Other proposed changes will include:

  1. Electronic voting and communications,
  2. Allowing associate members to serve in more capacities within the chapter,
  3. Aligning the scheduling of our elections with AIA Michigan requirements, and
  4. Allowing greater flexibility in the scheduling of meetings of the general membership.

Per the bylaws, the proposed changes must be distributed to our members in advance of a vote.  Please take a few moments to review the proposed (new) bylaws as well as the current (old) bylaws by clicking the links below:

The bylaws vote will take place during the first 5 to 15 minutes of the upcoming lunch and learn on Friday, March 23.  More information is coming in the next few weeks about the lunch and learn and signup procedures.

If you have any questions regarding the proposed bylaws changes, please contact me at nathan.golin@c2ae.com.  We look forward to your thoughts and comments.
